Dr. Joshua Juan completed his medical training at the University of Manitoba in Primary Care and his Hepatology Fellowship through the University of Toronto at the Francis Family Liver Clinic (Toronto Western Hospital). He currently holds both a Primary care and Liver Specialist designation with the Ontario Medical Association and retains good standing with the OMA and CPSO. Dr. Juan presently manages a high volume clinical practice at the Toronto General Hospital Centre for Liver Disease where he is a staff physician and co-investigator in numerous clinical trials.
In addition to his independent clinic, Dr. Juan is involved in a province-wide partnership with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHTLC) where his role is to promote education on the impact and management of hepatitis C and assist in the development and improvement of multidisciplinary approaches amongst health care teams across Ontario.
Most recently, Dr. Juan was appointed as a lead physician at the Albany Medical Clinic where he helped facilitate the establishment of their Hepatology division. His interests include viral hepatitis, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), health and fitness in relation to liver health and the education of liver disease to health care providers.
